Elan's page

Elan's 2nd birthday--Daddy was out of town on his actual birthday so we celebrated a few days later. On July 31st, Dee and Pop came to dinner and for the celebration. Elan enjoyed opening his gifts, though a few will do as he gets sidetracked wanting to play with each new item. He is a very picky eater and won't eat cake or ice cream but he loves juice popsicles. I made his cake into popsicles, and he did eat some of one of those. He did not touch the ice cream. I had put it into molds and colored it, and I hoped he would eat the stars but no luck. He also got a little sad and whined when the candles were blown out. The last picture is a caterpillar cake that his aunt Erika made when we had a second party with his Noni and Lito at the beach. He didn't eat that cake either, even though we tried to tell him it was bread. He loves bread, but no such luck on cake. What a fun birthday!

Tybee Island Beach Vacation August 3-10th 2008
We had never been to Tybee Island before, and we enjoyed it. Elan had a lot of fun at the beach this year. He didn't eat the sand like he did last year, and he liked getting in the waves. He enjoyed building sand houses and finding some shells. He also enjoyed the bike rides we took around the island. His aunt Erika threw him a second birthday party, after his first at home. The pictures of the party are with his other birthday pictures. Most of the pictures below are self-explanatory. He did get into a new thing with his Lito of giving a kiss, getting a crazy response, and he continually enjoyed that. There are pictures of our family in areas of Savannah since we spent one morning site-seeing there, and there is a picture of Elan with a cannon in Fort Pulaski when we visited there. There is also one picture of him feeding the gators at a restaurant called The Crab Shack. It was quite a tourist trap, and we just fell for the trap!
