Day of adventure-September 27, 2008
Elan had a big day on Saturday. They had a free Outdoor Adventure Day at a park near here. It was sponsored by the Department of Natural Resources. They had fishing, panning for gold, a climbing wall, snakes on demonstration, animal furs, paddle boats, and Smokey the Bear. He enjoyed looking at everything, and he especially enjoyed meeting "Oso" (bear in Spanish). He is also learning how to smile in pictures. When you tell him to smile, he sort of scrunches up his face so you will see some silly faces in these pictures.
After that he got to "help" daddy clean the steeple at church which meant a ride in the bucket truck. That might have been the highlight of his week!

The latest thing...rocking on the rocking horse, listening to the Veggie Tales CD and having "blankie". He was swaddled in a hospital blanket from day one, and then it became a bed companion, but it has only been in recent weeks where Elan wants to carry the blanket around. It makes a good superman cape too. We are sick of Veggie Tales songs, but he can listen to it all day long!

September 13th, 2008...Big day! Aunt (Tia) Erika got married on mommy and daddy's 5th anniversary. Elan did great as a ring bearer. He actually did pretty well on the trip to St Louis thanks to a DVD player in the car and Tales as he likes to call Veggie Tales. He practiced carrying his pillow, and he knew he would walk with Caroline down the aisle. The funny part was that he said "uh oh" when she started dropping the petals on the ground. He also said "new back hoe" the whole way down the aisle because we had promised him a new back hoe if he would walk to sit with his grandmother Noni in the front of the church. We bribed him with some paletas (dum dum lollipops), and you can see him eating one in one of the pictures. One picture is with his new Tio Jeff (uncle Jeff), and the last picture is him dancing with Caroline at the reception. She did a great job entertaining him and taking care of him.

September 9th--Cave Spring Rolater Park
Elan loves to play with his friend, Hunter. Hunter's mom and I decided to take the boys to the park in Cave Spring. This creek is part of the spring, so it was very cold. The boys had a good time wading in the water. Elan was crazy enough to stick his head in, and he thought he should lap the water up like a dog. It was a fun outing just before the summer ends and it gets too cold!
