Visit to the doctor...Elan is healthy! His weight was just about 25 pounds and his height is 33 inches. This appears to be about 70th percentile for height and 45th percentile for weight. Everyone says he is big for his age, and I guess he is pretty tall. The doctor had some concerns over the fact that he isn't speaking much. After we talked, she decided he was OK and that it is just that he is learning Spanish and English at the same time. She wants to be sure we keep an eye on him, and hopefully when he goes back at age 2 for the next check-up, he'll be saying a lot more. She said to just keep trying foods, but she was definitely not happy that he still wants baby food. Neither are we as parents, but we don't know what else to do!

Time for an update I guess...I took the Super Elan Valentine pictures at the end of January, but some family members were getting Valentines with these pictures, so I didn't want to spoil the surprise. The other pictures were taken February 6th. Elan found the strainer and was putting it on his head, but he quit when I began taking pictures. He realized that day that I could take his picture, and then he could see it on the digital camera screen. That is how I got him to pose with his hands clasped together.

He isn't really saying any new words or doing anything new. He is just very active, like a boy would be. We have enjoyed a few spring-like days outside, and those are the best for him. He would rather be outside exploring the woods.

I'll write again after he goes to the doctor next week.
