Elan's three year old check up--Elan went to the doctor yesterday, and he weighed 32 lbs and was 38 inches tall. This is 49th percentile for weight and 56th percentile for height, so I guess he is just in the middle of his friends! He didn't want to go to the doctor because he thought it woudl hurt, but luckily this was not a visit where he needed shots.
Last week we went to the mall with some friends, and here are a couple shots of their play time. We tried to get all to stay still in the boat and look at the camera, but that is too hard with four squirmy ones! Elan started preschool last week, and he likes it so far. He has had a little incident when one other boy turns on the class CD payer (which has happened every day except one day), and he cries about that. But we are working through it!

First day of "school"...Elan's first day of preschool was Tuesday of this week. He has had a great time every day, and he seems to look forward to going each day. His teacher said he has adjusted well and that he is outgoing and sweet. We have to get a new backpack for him because his bug bag is too heavy. The other pictures are of a rainbow we had at our house. We have seen more rainbows in the last two weeks with two at the beach and one here, but we are happy to see them.

Dauphin Island, AL...we just got home from a week at the beach last week. Elan had a blast playing in the sand and the water. Some pictures below with comments before each one.
How sweet...

Trying to be gentle with his sister

A rainbow we saw one morning...we actually saw two rainbows while there.

Elan in the kayak with his daddy

We buried Elan in front of his castle. Our rental beach house in the background.

It is hard to get a family picture, but we tried!

Elan with his shark hat from his Aunt Tina

Can you find Elan? He is the small speck at the base of the water tower.

Noni and Lito were full of sorpresas (surprises), including this net that he thought belonged on his head.

Aunt Erika made Elan a beach birthday cake so we could celebrate his birthday--again.

Do you want some cake with that icing?
Admiring his cake

Playing is hard work--Elan slept in the floor, and we had to snap a picture of his blanket around his head and the weird angles where he slept.

To top it all off, we had to get some Krispy Kreme doughnuts on the way home.
